North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a tragic collision between a white Tesla Model 3 car and a blue and white double-decker bus. The incident occurred on the B1224 Wetherby Road, near the junction with the A1237, at approximately 9.20am on Saturday, June 29, 2024.
Tragically, a passenger in the Tesla, a 31-year-old man from the Newcastle area, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His family has been notified and is receiving support during this difficult time. The Tesla’s driver, a 32-year-old man from the Teesside area, sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Additionally, three other passengers in the Tesla and the bus driver received treatment at the hospital for minor injuries. The B1224 road remained closed until 5.25pm as authorities conducted investigations and cleared the scene.
