The family of Adam Ellison, who was fatally attacked in Prescot, have released new photographs taken just hours before his death as they continue to appeal for information, two years after the tragic incident occurred.
Adam, 29 years old at the time, was walking with three friends along Market Place, Prescot, at 00.40 on November 4, 2017 when an argument ensued with a group of individuals on a motorbike. During the altercation, Adam was stabbed in the neck with an unknown weapon, causing him to fall to the ground.
His friends and several passers-by rushed to his aid, immediately calling emergency services. The offenders fled in the direction of Tesco supermarket. Sadly, Adam was pronounced dead shortly after 02.00 in the hospital.
Detective Chief Inspector John Middleton emphasised the senselessness of the assault, which abruptly ended the life of a promising young man. Adam’s family continues to grapple with the devastating loss and seeks answers regarding the motive behind this horrific incident.
Middleton assured that the investigation remains active and relentless, promising that those responsible will be pursued until they are brought to justice. He appealed to the community, urging anyone with relevant information to come forward. Identifying the individuals on the motorbike that night, locating witnesses who were present in Prescot town center, and any other information related to the case would be crucial in progressing the investigation.
Middleton reminded the public that individuals involved in such heinous acts do not deserve to roam freely in Merseyside, urging the community to stand together in the pursuit of justice. He encouraged individuals with changing loyalties or any information that could assist the investigation to do the right thing and come forward. As of now, two 17-year-old males and a 22-year-old man from Huyton were arrested in September 2019 in connection with Adam’s murder. They have been released under investigation as enquiries continue.
