Emergency services have rushed to Balham Underground Station in South London following reports of a person under a train on the northbound platform.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:30pm on Friday, 9 May 2025, at Balham Station on Balham High Road. The incident has prompted a full-scale emergency response.
Transport for London (TfL) confirmed the incident took place on the northbound Northern line platform, with emergency crews, including paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and fire officers from the London Fire Brigade being deployed.
The station was immediately cordoned off, with trains suspended through the area as responders worked at the scene.
Current Status
There is no official update yet regarding the person’s condition, but rail disruption is expected throughout the afternoon. London Underground passengers are advised to check TfL updates and allow extra travel time.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said:
“We are aware of an incident at Balham Underground Station involving a person under a train. Emergency services are on site and enquiries are ongoing.”
