Officers were called to the Dartford Crossing yesterday evening (22 October) following concerns for the welfare of a man reported in the area.
Authorities received reports from members of the public shortly after 7:00 pm, indicating that an individual had entered the water. In response, the bridge was promptly closed for approximately four hours as emergency services, including the coastguard, launched a comprehensive search operation.
The extensive search involved multiple agencies working together to locate the individual. Despite their efforts throughout the evening, there has been no confirmation on the outcome of the search as of yet.
This morning, police confirmed that their enquiries are ongoing as they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Authorities are urging anyone with information or who may have witnessed the event to come forward.
