Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a house fire on Selhurst Road this afternoon, with crews still in attendance as investigations continue.
The London Fire Brigade was called at 3:27pm, responding swiftly with three fire engines and around 15 firefighters from Woodside, Croydon, and Norbury fire stations.
On arrival, firefighters found that part of the front room of a semi-detached house had been damaged by fire.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed their presence at the scene, stating:
“We were called at 3.30pm today (17 March) to reports of a fire on Selhurst Road, South Norwood. We still have crews on scene so the information we have is still limited.
We have sent resources to the scene. The incident is currently ongoing and we are working with our emergency services partners.”
Firefighters Continue Efforts
Fire crews remain at the location, working to ensure the fire is fully extinguished and to prevent any potential flare-ups. There are currently no reports of injuries, but this has not yet been officially confirmed.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, and fire investigators are expected to assess the scene once it is deemed safe.

Selhurst Road has seen minor disruption to traffic as emergency vehicles continue to operate. Motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible and follow diversion signs.
