Emergency services rushed to a property in Cheam this morning, Saturday 4th May, following reports of an explosion and subsequent fire. The incident occurred at a property on Church Hill Road North in the town.
London Fire Brigade, paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, and officers from the Metropolitan Police were all mobilized to the scene around 10 am as a shed in the rear garden of a property turned into a fireball, posing a threat of spreading to the surrounding area.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud boom followed by the sight of the shed being engulfed in flames, prompting swift action from the emergency services.
To ensure public safety, a large number of cordons have been established, and officers from the Metropolitan Police are redirecting traffic away from the affected area.
