A major incident has blocked both directions of the A107 Cambridge Heath Road in Whitechapel, causing significant traffic delays and bus diversions in the area.
The affected stretch runs between A11 Whitechapel Road and Cephas Street in Bethnal Green. Emergency services are currently on scene and all lanes are closed to traffic as they deal with the situation.
The nature of the incident has not yet been disclosed. but us understood to have put the Royal London Hospitial on shut for all emergency ambulances
