Police have launched an urgent appeal for witnesses after two people were struck by a car in Eastfield Street, E14 on Saturday night (14 June).

Emergency Services Respond to Hit-and-Run

At approximately 10:00pm, Metropolitan Police officers, along with London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade, were called to reports of a serious road traffic collision involving a vehicle and two pedestrians.

Both victims received emergency treatment at the scene before being taken to hospital. Their injuries were later confirmed to be non-life-threatening and non-life-changing.

Driver Fled Scene on Foot

Police confirmed that the driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot, and urgent efforts are underway to identify and locate the individual responsible.

In a statement, a Met Police spokesperson said:

"Around 22:00hrs on Saturday, 14 June, officers attended Eastfield Street, E14, following reports of a collision involving a car and two pedestrians.

Both individuals were treated at the scene before being taken to hospital. Their injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening and non-life-changing.

The driver of the vehicle left the scene on foot. Officers are making urgent enquiries to locate him."

Appeal for Witnesses and CCTV

Detectives are now appealing for any witnesses, dashcam footage, or CCTV that may assist their investigation. Residents or businesses in the Poplar and Canary Wharf area are encouraged to review their surveillance systems for activity around 10pm on 14 June.
