Motorists using the Dartford Crossing are being advised to plan their journeys carefully this week as a series of overnight closures will affect both the northbound tunnels and the QEII Bridge.
The closures, part of scheduled maintenance and contraflow works, are expected to cause disruption on key dates from Tuesday, April 22 through to the early hours of Monday, April 29. Diversion routes will be in place and clearly signposted via the National Highways network, but drivers are warned to expect potential delays.
The Dartford Crossing, which forms part of the A282 and links Dartford in Kent with Thurrock in Essex, is a vital transport route spanning the River Thames. These temporary closures are necessary for essential infrastructure upkeep but are subject to change depending on weather conditions.
