A man has appeared in court after allegedly attempting to drive a car the wrong way down the M11, prompting a police response that temporarily halted traffic.

Shane Parker, 19, of Ellerton Road, Dagenham, East London, appeared before Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, February 26, facing multiple motoring and criminal charges related to the incident, which occurred on Tuesday, February 25.

Parker has been charged with:

Aggravated vehicle taking
Driving while disqualified
No insurance
Failing to provide a specimen for analysis
Possession of a Class B drug

Police Response and Court Proceedings

The incident forced officers to bring traffic on the M11 to a temporary standstill to prevent potential collisions.

Following his court appearance, Parker has been remanded and is set to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Monday, March 31 for further proceedings.
