Police in Huddersfield have released a CCTV image of a man they are seeking to speak with in connection to a serious sexual assault that occurred in the town centre early on Sunday, September 8.
The incident took place around 4.50am on Chancery Close, a passageway connecting Chancery Lane and Market Place. According to reports, a woman was approached by a man who sexually assaulted her and then stole her mobile phone.
Detective Sergeant Will Denton from Kirklees Adult Safeguarding emphasised the seriousness of the case: “This is clearly a concerning incident, and it is important that we identify the man in this CCTV image as part of our ongoing enquiries.”
Authorities are urging anyone who can identify the man in the image or who may have relevant information to come forward.
The victim is receiving support from specially trained officers while the local neighbourhood policing team is working to reassure the wider community.
