Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to reports of a fire in a derelict building located on Owls Hatch Road in Herne Bay today. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, September 24, 2023.
Four fire engines were dispatched to the scene, where crews swiftly initiated firefighting operations. Equipped with breathing apparatus, hydraulic cutters, and spreaders, the firefighters gained access to the building to combat the blaze. Additionally, thermal imaging cameras, a 7-meter ladder, and other essential tools were utilized during the operation. Hose reel jets were employed to extinguish the fire.
As of now, the cause of the fire remains undetermined and is under investigation by local authorities.
