A woman has been rushed to hospital with a serious leg injury following a collision involving a bus and a cyclist on London Bridge during the Wednesday morning rush hour.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:00am, prompting a swift emergency response from City of London Police and London Ambulance Service.
Road Closures and Police Advice
As of this morning, London Bridge remains closed to northbound traffic, with officers urging the public to avoid the area while investigations into the collision continue.
Chief Inspector James Minney, from City of London Police, said:
“City of London Police officers are attending the scene of a road traffic collision involving a bus and a cyclist.
A woman has been taken to hospital, and the bridge is currently closed to northbound traffic. We’d ask people to avoid the area. Investigations are ongoing.”
Ambulance Service Statement
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson added:
“We were called at 8:29am to reports of a road traffic collision on London Bridge, SE1.
We sent an ambulance crew, an incident response officer, and a clinical team manager.
The first paramedics arrived within five minutes. We treated a woman for a leg injury and took her to a major trauma centre as a priority.”
