A joint cross-border operation conducted by Metropolitan Police Specials (MSC Surge) and Surrey Police on Friday has led to multiple arrests, the seizure of significant quantities of drugs, and the confiscation of thousands of pounds in cash. The operation involved collaboration between the Vehicle Recovery & Examination Team and officers from both police forces.
MSC Surge, working alongside the Met Taskforce, made arrests for the following offences:
- Possession of a knife
- Possession with intent to supply drugs
- Drink driving
In addition to the arrests, officers seized a substantial quantity of drugs, along with thousands of pounds in cash, believed to be linked to criminal activities.
The operation was part of ongoing efforts by the Metropolitan Police and Surrey Police to target and disrupt illegal activities across county borders. Cross-border crime, which often involves drugs and illegal weapons, remains a high priority for law enforcement agencies, with increased efforts to tackle criminal networks operating across jurisdictions.
A spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police Specials praised the success of the operation, emphasizing the importance of such coordinated actions in tackling crime: “This joint operation is a testament to the collaboration between different units and neighbouring forces to keep our communities safe. By removing dangerous weapons, drugs, and proceeds of crime, we are making a significant impact.
Residents have praised the coordinated effort, expressing hope that such operations will continue to keep streets safer. Law enforcement agencies remain committed to identifying and arresting those involved in illegal activities and working together to tackle the issues that pose the most serious risks to the public.
Further investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the criminal activities linked to those arrested, and police are urging anyone with information related to illegal activities in the area to come forward.
