Police in Caddington are continuing their investigation into a concerning discovery of a “collection of suspicious substances” found within a residence in the village.
Last week, Bedfordshire Police conducted a controlled explosion following the discovery of these substances at a house located on Hyde Road.

A spokesperson for the police stated, “The considerable number of different items found means it is taking a long time for our officers and investigators to work through and has required several specialist teams to visit the site.”
Despite the ongoing investigation, authorities have implemented a scene guard to remain in place for the coming days. However, the police have emphasized no imminent danger to the public.

Safety Priority
Ensuring the safety of residents remains the paramount concern for law enforcement officials. They have assured the public that there is no immediate risk, urging anyone with concerns to reach out to the authorities.

“We would continue to encourage anyone who has concerns to speak to our officers or give us a call on 101,” the spokesperson added.
The presence of specialist teams and the prolonged investigation underscore the seriousness with which authorities are treating this matter. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
