A large-scale rescue operation was launched near the South Foreland Lighthouse this afternoon after reports of a woman in distress on the cliffs. The incident occurred around 3:30 pm on Friday when a concerned member of the public contacted the Coastguard.
Multiple emergency services were scrambled to the scene, including a Coastguard rescue helicopter, the All Weather Lifeboat from Dover, and Coastguard teams from Deal and Langdon.
