A court-ordered closure on a Northfleet property has been extended for an additional three months after ongoing concerns about antisocial behaviour, Kent Police have confirmed.

The property in Lawrance Square was initially subjected to a closure order in late 2024 following multiple reports from local residents of criminal damage, threatening behaviour, intimidation, drug misuse, and persistent noise disturbances.

After the original three-month order expired, Kent Police successfully applied to magistrates on Tuesday, 18 February 2025, to extend the closure for another three months. The order prohibits entry to anyone except emergency services and local council employees.

Speaking about the court’s decision, Police Sergeant Steve Cole said:

“Antisocial behaviour significantly impacts the local community, and we will do everything in our powers to put a stop to it. Those residing at the Lawrance Square address were warned about their actions and the consequences.”

“I am pleased that the closure order has been extended while Gravesham Borough Council works to take full possession of the premises. This will offer further reassurance to residents in the area and serves as a clear warning that antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated.”

The closure order was issued after months of escalating issues at the address, which saw neighbours reporting repeated incidents of drug misuse, violent outbursts, and general disorder. Local residents expressed fears for their safety and highlighted the detrimental impact on their quality of life.

The closure order has provided some relief, with neighbours reporting a noticeable improvement in the area’s safety and tranquillity since the initial enforcement.
