A child has tragically died after falling from the upper floor of a flat on Hotspur Street, SE11.
Police were called to the scene at 4.23pm on Friday, 24 May. Officers attended alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service (LAS). Despite their efforts, the child was pronounced dead at the scene. The child’s family has been informed.
At this very early stage, there is nothing to indicate that the incident is suspicious. However, enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the fall.
Cordons have been put in place at the scene as officers continue their investigation.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said, “Our thoughts are with the family at this incredibly difficult time. We are working to understand the full details of what happened.”
