A shooting incident in Chicago’s Greater Grand Crossing neighbourhood on Saturday evening has left four men critically injured, according to authorities.
The incident unfolded at approximately 18.20 at the Parkway Garden apartment homes located in the 6500 block of South King Drive. The four men were inside an apartment when they were struck by gunfire, as reported by the Chicago Police Department.
Among the victims, a 23-year-old man sustained gunshot wounds to the back and was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Another victim, a 28-year-old man, suffered injuries to the hip and was also listed in critical condition, according to police reports.
A third victim, aged 28, was shot in the chest and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition as well. The fourth victim, a 39-year-old man, sustained gunshot injuries to the back and was reported to be in critical condition.
As of late Saturday, details regarding the circumstances leading up to the shooting remained undisclosed, with the investigation ongoing.
In response to the incident, authorities took a woman in for questioning, and three firearms were recovered at the scene, according to police.
