An investigation into a major blaze at a disused property in england/chesterfield/”>Chesterfield has concluded – but the cause remains undetermined due to the severity of the damage.
Emergency services were called at 5:23pm on Tuesday, 2 September, to reports of a fire at a two-storey building on Old Road.
Fire crews from Chesterfield, Matlock, Staveley and Clay Cross stations attended, supported by an aerial ladder platform. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used several main jets to bring the fire under control.
The operation continued into the early hours, with crews leaving the scene at 3:30am on Wednesday morning (3 September). They returned later that day at 8:30am to reinspect the building and complete fire investigation work.

confirmed the extent of the damage made it impossible to establish the cause of the fire.
Derbyshire Constabulary also attended the incident and is appealing for information from the public.
