A man’s untimely demise at the Park Plaza Hotel in Western Avenue W3 sparked a chemical scare, necessitating medical evaluation for six police officers who came into contact with a substance found at the scene.
Authorities were summoned to the hotel premises at 12:34pm on Saturday 11th May 2024 following the discovery of the deceased individual. While the circumstances surrounding the man’s death are being treated as unexplained, there are no initial suspicions of foul play. Police have identified the deceased and are currently working to notify the next of kin.
However, concerns arose when an item discovered in the hotel room prompted fears of potential chemical exposure. As a precautionary measure, several police officers who had been near the substance were promptly assessed by the London Ambulance Service (LAS). Fortunately, all officers examined were deemed to be in good health following the evaluation.
The incident has led to heightened vigilance among authorities, with investigations ongoing to determine the nature of the substance and any potential risks it may pose. The hotel remains accessible to guests, albeit under heightened police scrutiny as inquiries into the incident continue.
The precise cause of the man’s death and the nature of the substance found at the scene are yet to be determined, pending further investigation by the authorities.
