Detectives investigating two burglaries in Liverpool city centre have released CCTV images of two individuals who may hold crucial information related to the incidents. The burglaries occurred on Saturday, 23 September, and targeted The Arch Student Accommodation and a shop on Limekiln Lane.
The first incident took place at approximately 8.40pm when a man unlawfully entered The Arch Student Accommodation and made off with several electrical tools. Security personnel intervened, escorting the suspect away from the scene. However, on Tuesday, 26 September, the same individual was spotted entering The Arch at around 05:30 after evading security staff.
Shortly before 2:15am on the same Tuesday morning, the second burglary occurred at a shop on Limekiln Lane. The suspect gained entry by accessing the premises through the roof. Once inside, the offender stole alcohol, scratch cards, and e-cigarettes before escaping back through the roof.
In response to these incidents, officers from Operation Assure, a specialised burglary team dedicated to reducing theft and burglary in Liverpool, have conducted extensive CCTV inquiries. As a result, they have released two images of individuals believed to have pertinent information that could assist in their investigation.
Detective Inspector Darren Taylor expressed his disdain for such disgraceful behavior, emphasising the determination of the officers to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the burglaries and bring those responsible to justice. He urged anyone who recognises the individuals in the images or recalls seeing anyone suspicious on either Saturday, 23rd September, or the following Tuesday morning to come forward with information.
Furthermore, Detective Inspector Taylor appealed to residents and business owners in the area to review any CCTV or doorbell footage they may have from those days and share it with the investigating team.
