A car fire on the M20 near Swanley prompted an emergency response from Kent Fire and Rescue Service earlier this afternoon.
Crews were called to the scene shortly before 3pm on Sunday (13 April), following reports of a vehicle ablaze on the busy motorway. Two fire engines attended the incident.
Firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus, used high-pressure hose reel jets to bring the flames under control. Kent Police were also on the scene to assist with traffic management and ensure public safety.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries. A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the blaze was extinguished successfully and the cause is believed to be accidental.
The incident caused some disruption to traffic in the area, though normal flow resumed shortly after fire crews stood down.
Motorists are reminded to remain alert to potential hazards and ensure their vehicles are regularly checked for safety.
