Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to a road traffic collision on Canterbury Road in Folkestone on Monday, 24 February 2025 at approximately 5.44pm The incident involved two cars, prompting a swift response from local emergency services.
Two fire engines were deployed to the scene, with crews utilizing hydraulic equipment—including jaws of life, spreaders, rams, and cutting tools—along with vehicle stabilisation blocks, chocks, and braces to create the necessary space to extricate an individual trapped inside one of the vehicles.
In addition to the fire service, partner agencies, including the SECamb Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb), were on scene. Emergency crews successfully handed over both persons involved in the collision to SEACamb paramedics for further assessment and care.
An update was provided at 6.44pm, confirming that both individuals are now under the care of paramedics. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the collision. Further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
