A 27-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent following a serious assault in Canterbury that left a man hospitalised.
Incident Summary
Kent Police were called to Sussex Avenue at around 7:14am on Friday, 30 May 2025, after a man in his 50s was discovered with multiple injuries. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Arrests and Charges
Three people were initially arrested in connection with the incident:

Both have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Liam Jones, 27, of Cornwall Gardens, Canterbury, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 31 May, where he was remanded in custody.
The case has been transferred to Canterbury Crown Court, where it is next scheduled for hearing on Monday, 30 June.
