A 15-year-old boy has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of Yeray Sanchez-Morales, 17, on england/old-kent-england/”>kent-road/”>Old Kent Road in Southwark.
Police were called to the busy road outside a McDonald’s restaurant at 10.47pm on Wednesday, 27 August, after reports of a stabbing. Officers found two 17-year-old boys with stab wounds.
Yeray was taken to hospital in a critical condition, but tragically died on Wednesday, 3 September. His family are being supported by specialist officers.
The second teenager was also treated in hospital but has since been discharged after his injuries were deemed non-life-threatening.
Arrests and charges
A 17-year-old boy was initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and later released on bail while enquiries continue.
On Monday, 1 September, a 15-year-old was arrested and has now been charged with murder, grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon. He appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court this afternoon and cannot be named for legal reasons.

Detective Chief Inspector Kate blackburn/”>Blackburn, of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said:
“Our thoughts are with Yeray’s family at this unimaginably difficult time. The incident took place in the middle of the road outside McDonald’s on Old Kent Road and there were many witnesses.
