A man who committed three violent robberies in just four days in Boston has been jailed for four-and-a-half years, following a hearing at Lincoln Crown Court.
Georgi Georgiev, 20, of Horace Street, pleaded guilty to three counts of robbery when he appeared in court on Friday, 14 March. His victims included two elderly men and a younger man, all targeted in unprovoked attacks that shocked the local community.
Targeting the Elderly and Vulnerable
The first offence took place on 13 June 2024, when Georgiev approached a 77-year-old man walking between Lister Way and Irby Street. He grabbed the man’s arm, demanded money, and forcibly stole his cash and jewellery.
Just three days later, on 16 June, Georgiev struck again — this time feigning injury to lure a 71-year-old man walking through the same area. Once the man stopped to assist, Georgiev pushed him to the ground, covered his mouth, and robbed him of his wallet, phone, and keys.
The victim sustained serious injuries, including trauma to his jaw, cheekbone, back of the head, and bite marks on his finger.
Third Robbery Leads to Arrest
On 17 June, Georgiev targeted a 25-year-old man walking along Witham Bank West at around 1:10pm. He demanded money, and when the victim attempted to walk away, Georgiev grabbed him, pushed him to the ground, and took his wallet, phone, and house keys.
Georgiev was arrested later that day after being identified by police officers in Boston Market Place. He was found still in possession of items stolen during the third robbery.
Further investigation led officers to a local pawn shop, where a piece of jewellery from the first robbery was recovered after being sold by Georgiev.
Justice Served
Georgiev’s four-day crime spree sparked concern in the community, particularly over the targeting of elderly victims. He has now been sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison.
A police spokesperson praised the swift identification and recovery work by officers and encouraged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious behaviour.
“These were violent and calculated attacks against vulnerable members of the public. We are pleased that justice has been served, and our community is safer as a result.”
