A police search for a missing teenage girl has ended in tragedy after officers located a body believed to be that of May, a 14-year-old from Weymouth.
The teenager was reported missing on Wednesday, 18 June 2025, sparking a widespread community and police effort to locate her. Dorset Police have now confirmed that a body has been found during the search operation.
“Formal identification has not yet taken place, but the body is believed to be that of May, 14,” a police spokesperson said. “Her family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.”
Community Mourns as Investigation Continues
The discovery has sent shockwaves through the Weymouth community, with heartfelt tributes already beginning to pour in. The Missing Persons Team UK, who supported efforts to locate May, also issued a statement of condolences.
“Our thoughts are with May’s family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time. We thank everyone who shared the appeal and offered support.”
Authorities have not yet confirmed the circumstances surrounding May’s death, but at this time it is not being treated as suspicious. A post-mortem examination and formal identification are expected to be carried out in the coming days.
