The search for British TV doctor and columnist Michael Mosley, who went missing while on holiday on the Greek island of Symi, has taken a tragic turn. Authorities have confirmed that a body was discovered in a cave on the island, according to Symi’s deputy mayor, Ilias Chaskas.
Dr. Mosley, known for popularising the 5:2 diet, vanished four days ago after leaving Saint Nikolas Beach on foot. His wife, Dr Clare Bailey Mosley, raised the alarm when he failed to return to their hotel. A major search and rescue operation, involving helicopters, drones, and search teams, had been underway since then.
The sad development comes as CCTV footage emerged showing one of the last-known sightings of the 67-year-old. The video appears to capture Dr Mosley walking with an umbrella next to the marina in the village of Pedi, heading towards rocky hills. The mountainous terrain has been described as “not easy” by those involved in the search.
