A body has been discovered during the search for a missing man from Whitstable, police have confirmed.
Kent Police officers were called to the Seasalter area on the evening of Wednesday, 23 April 2025. Sadly, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
While formal identification is yet to take place, authorities have notified the family of a missing 54-year-old Edward Parry from Whitstable, who had been the subject of an ongoing search.
A police spokesperson said:
“Officers attended Seasalter on the evening of Wednesday 23 April 2025, where a man was sadly pronounced deceased. Formal identification has not yet taken place, however, the family of a missing man from the Whitstable area have been informed.”
At this stage, the death is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
Local residents have expressed their condolences and concern following the news, with tributes appearing on community forums and social media.
More information is expected once identification is confirmed and the coroner’s report is completed.
