Toprak Razgatlioglu (TUR) from the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team showcased his exceptional skill and performance on the BMW M 1000 RR during the fifth round of the 2024 FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) at Donington Park. Building on his flawless weekend at Misano (ITA), ‘El Turco’ set the benchmark once again at Donington Park, solidifying his status as a leading force in the championship.
Starting from pole position, Razgatlioglu dominated all three races, each time securing victory with a significant lead. In addition to his race wins, he set several new lap records over the weekend. This impressive feat brings his total wins for the season to nine, including a streak of seven consecutive victories. Razgatlioglu’s triumphs have extended his lead in the rider’s championship to 41 points.
The Manufacturer’s Championship also saw a notable shift as BMW closed the gap to leader Ducati, reducing the deficit to just six points. This success highlights the competitive edge and reliability of the BMW M 1000 RR on the world stage.
Scott Redding (GBR) from the Bonovo action BMW Racing Team also had a commendable weekend at his home round. Starting from third place, Redding delivered strong performances, finishing fourth in two races, further showcasing the prowess of BMW machinery.
