Emergency services are battling a major house fire that broke out this morning (Wednesday, 8 May) on Caverleigh Way in Worcester Park.
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters are currently at the scene, tackling fierce flames that have engulfed half of the ground floor and part of the first floor of the property.
The London Fire Brigade Control Officers received the first of eight emergency calls at around 9:58am, prompting an urgent response. Fire crews from Sutton, Mitcham, and Kingston fire stations were dispatched to the scene within minutes.
Dramatic images from the area show plumes of smoke rising as firefighters continue to work to contain the fire.
Cause Under Investigation
At this stage, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and an investigation will be launched once the flames are extinguished and the site is made safe.
Authorities have urged local residents to avoid the area while the incident is ongoing.
