An explosion ripped through a house in Chippenham this afternoon, triggering a massive emergency response.
At around 3.15pm on Thursday, 999 crews were scrambled to Orchard Crescent following reports of a serious blast.

- 2 fire engines
- 4 fire cars
- 1 ambulance
- 1 rapid response ambulance
All rushed to the scene by 3.30pm to tackle the incident.
One Person Injured, Area Locked Down
One person suffered injuries and is currently receiving treatment from paramedics. Wiltshire Police have urged the public to respect cordons and keep clear to allow emergency teams to work.
“We are currently attending an incident in Orchard Crescent, Chippenham in support of Fire and Ambulance Service colleagues. Members of the public should abide by the cordons that have been put in place and avoid the area to allow emergency services to attend,” said a Wiltshire Police spokesperson.
