A woman remains in critical condition following a fatal car crash in Bexley that claimed the life of Michael Course.
The 67-year-old woman was rushed to hospital with life-changing injuries after a car collided with a fence at around 11pm on Saturday, 21 June, at the junction of Hurst Road and Glenhurst Avenue.
The driver, a 26-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He was taken into custody for questioning.
Tributes at the Scene
Floral tributes have been left at the site of the crash, with heartfelt messages in memory of Michael Course, whose inquest is due to open next week.
One note read:
“Sometimes when you hear of a tragic event, words are hard to come by. This is such a hard time. Gone but never forgotten. Rest in peace.”
Another message said:
“Deeply saddened and shocked.”
Police Appeal for Dashcam Footage
Detective Sergeant Rob Harris, from the Metropolitan Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, is urging witnesses to come forward:
“As our enquiries continue, we are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time.
“Did you witness the collision? If you think you might have caught any dash cam or mobile phone footage of the incident, or the time leading up to it, please contact the police as soon as possible.”
