Two teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 38-year-old man was found fatally stabbed in Barry just before midnight on Monday.
The teenagers, aged 16 and 17 and from Llantwit Major, were taken into custody overnight, South Wales Police confirmed. They remain under questioning as a major investigation unfolds in the town.
Crime Scene and Road Closures
A large police cordon has been established on Barry Road and Court Road, with forensic tents and multiple police vehicles still at the scene. The stretch between the Tuck In Cafe and Davies Street and surrounding routes remains shut, affecting local travel and access.
A nearby primary school was closed for the day as a precaution, with police warning the scene will remain sealed off for “some time”.
Police Statement
Detective Superintendent Mark O’Shea, who is leading the investigation, said:
“This is a close-knit community who no doubt will be deeply shocked and saddened by what has taken place.
There will be an increased police presence in the area over the coming days while teams of detectives and specialist staff work at pace to establish the circumstances.”
South Wales Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant CCTV, dashcam or phone footage to come forward immediately.
