Police officers searching for a missing 94-year-old man from Ashford have sadly recovered a body.
While formal identification is yet to be confirmed, the man’s family has been informed of the development. The man had been reported missing earlier this week, prompting a public appeal and extensive search operation.
In a statement released today, Kent Police confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.
Officers expressed their gratitude to the public and media for assisting with the appeal and respectfully requested that all images of the man now be removed from any coverage.
“We would like to thank everyone who supported our appeal by sharing information or images. We now ask that all photos of the individual be taken down to protect the family’s privacy,” a police spokesperson said.
No further details have been released at this time.
