In a shocking incident in Dartford, a man has been arrested following the death of eight geese. Kent Police responded to a call at 5:36 PM on Sunday, 21 July 2024, after the birds were discovered deceased on Anchor Boulevard.
Following an investigation led by the Rural Task Force, a 19-year-old local man was apprehended on Thursday, 25 July, on charges of animal cruelty and operating a vehicle without a license or insurance. He has been released on bail pending further inquiries and is due to return on Friday, 25 October.
Sergeant Ross Haybourne, addressing the incident, expressed the community’s distress and reiterated the force’s commitment to investigating wildlife harm. This was a distressing incident which has caused considerable concern in the local community,” he stated. We will always investigate reports where wildlife may have been harmed deliberately and I would urge anyone who has information that may assist our enquiries to contact us.
