A 19-year-old man from Ramsgate has been arrested in connection with a series of assaults that occurred early on Saturday, November 9, 2024, in Margate. The incident took place around 1:15 a.m. during a disturbance on Mansion Street, which connects Fort Road and The Parade.
According to reports, a man sprayed a liquid—believed to be a strong alkali substance—onto others in the area, resulting in two people sustaining facial injuries and two others experiencing skin irritation and reddening on their faces or chests. Police attended the scene and have since seized a bottle thought to contain the substance used in the attack.
The suspect was taken into custody on Monday, November 11, and remains detained as investigations continue.
