A man has been arrested after police officers on patrol in Dover seized multiple weapons, including a slingshot, following a suspicious vehicle stop. The arrest took place on the evening of Thursday, October 31, 2024, when officers noticed a car parked on Buckland Avenue that had previously been driven suspiciously.
Further inquiries led officers to Cherry Tree Avenue, where they stopped a man for questioning. During the encounter, police seized a substance suspected to be cocaine, and a subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a knife, slingshot, and razor blades.
The suspect, a 41-year-old man from Deal, was arrested on suspicion of possessing class-A drugs, a knife, and an offensive weapon. He was also taken into custody in connection with driving-related offences.
The man has since been released on bail as police continue their investigation. Kent Police has urged the public to report any suspicious activities as they work to keep the community safe.
