Police were called to Addison Crescent in Holland Park at around 5:30 PM on Thursday, 28 November, following reports of a man believed to be in possession of a firearm.
Officers arrived promptly at the scene and engaged with the individual. Upon investigation, no weapon was found. The item in question was identified as an umbrella, not a firearm.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Officers attended and spoke with the man. No weapon was found, and it was confirmed he was holding an umbrella. No arrests were made.”
The incident caused brief concern in the area, but police have confirmed there was no danger to the public. Residents have been thanked for their vigilance and swift reporting of the situation.
