The Metropolitan Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the A13 in Wennington, Havering, which claimed the life of a 45-year-old man.
Incident Details
Emergency services were called at 8:30pm on Sunday, June 1, to reports of a collision between a car and a trailer on the A13 eastbound near the Wennington Interchange.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the driver of the car – a 45-year-old man – was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.
Police Statement
Detective Sergeant Jon Bounds from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is leading the investigation. He said:
“Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the man who sadly died following this incident.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area of the A13 heading eastbound, approaching the Wennington Interchange, between 20:25hrs and 20:35hrs on Sunday, 1 June.
“Did you witness the collision or see something that might be helpful to us? If you were driving past, please check any dashcam footage you may have captured.
“Even the smallest detail could assist our investigation.”
