Authorities are appealing for information following a violent incident in Oldham that left two men injured. The incident occurred on Busk Road and involved both gunshot and stab wounds.
At approximately 8.30pm on May 22, 2024, emergency services were alerted when a man arrived at Royal Oldham Hospital’s A&E department with serious injuries consistent with gunshot wounds to his arms. Detectives initiated initial investigations using CCTV footage, which revealed a disturbance on Busk Road.
A second male was discovered at the same location, suffering from stab injuries. Both victims were transported to the hospital for treatment. Two suspects, aged 22 and 29, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. They are currently receiving medical care while in custody.
Detective Inspector Alex Wilkinson from Greater Manchester Police’s Major Incident Team emphasised the seriousness of the situation: “This incident has left two men injured and requires our utmost attention. Our inquiries are in their initial stages, and we are diligently piecing together a timeline of events leading up to the disturbance on Busk Road. However, we believe this to be an isolated incident with no broader threat to the public.”
In response to the incident, local officers will increase patrols in the area to reassure the community. Detective Inspector Wilkinson urged anyone with relevant information to come forward: “We appeal to potential witnesses to assist us in our investigation.
