PSNI detectives from the Lisburn and Castlereagh area are urgently seeking information following a harrowing incident of aggravated burglary that unfolded on Saturday, April 6. According to Detective Sergeant Cargin, the incident occurred in the tranquil Greenwood Hill neighbourhood, leaving a family traumatised.
At approximately 10.45pm four masked assailants, brandishing a screwdriver, forcibly entered a residential property. The sole occupant at the time was a woman caring for her four young children. The intruders swiftly took control, ushering the children to an upstairs bedroom while the other two ransacked the home.
The burglars made off with a quantity of valuable jewellery and a tablet device before fleeing the scene around 11pm. Understandably, the family was left extremely distressed by this terrifying ordeal.
Detective Sergeant Cargin emphasised the importance of community cooperation in solving this case. He urged anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area to come forward. If you have any information, please contact the police at 101, quoting reference number 2044 of 06/04/24.
Additionally, detectives are keen to speak with anyone who noticed a white Volkswagen Golf in the vicinity. Residents are encouraged to review their CCTV footage and doorbell cameras for any relevant clues.
