A 44-year-old man, Christopher Cook, has pleaded guilty to the murder of Jacqueline Kerr, 54, in a tragic incident that unfolded on January 16, 2023. Jacqueline was discovered with severe injuries at a property on Sunnyside Road in Aberdeen and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cook was swiftly arrested on the same day in connection with her death. Today, at the High Court in Aberdeen, he entered a guilty plea. The sentencing for Cook will take place at a later date.
Jacqueline Kerr’s family, devastated by the loss, released a statement through Police Scotland, describing her as the “light of our lives” and expressing the profound impact her death has had on their family. They thanked all those involved in the investigation and requested privacy to grieve and heal as a family.
Detective Inspector James Callander of Police Scotland’s Major Investigations Team commented on the case, stating, “Jacqueline Kerr was subjected to a brutal attack in her own home by Christopher Cook. He has now admitted responsibility for his violent behavior, which resulted in the death of Jacqueline. While it cannot change what happened, I hope this outcome in court leads to some closure for Jacqueline’s family.”
