The A35 in Dorset has been closed in both directions following a serious road traffic collision. The closure is in place between the A352 Max Gate junction and the B3150 Stinsford Roundabout, near Dorchester.
Emergency services, including Dorset Police, Dorset Fire & Rescue, and the South West Ambulance Service, are at the scene managing the incident. Drivers are advised to expect delays and seek alternative routes where possible.
Diversion Routes
To minimize disruption, the following diversions have been put in place:
Westbound/Southbound (marked with a solid circle symbol)
- At the Stinsford Roundabout, take the third exit onto the B3150 Stinsford Hill towards Dorchester.
- Continue on the B3150 westbound London Road through Dorchester.
- Follow onto the B3150 Bridport Road to the St John Roundabout.
- At the first roundabout, take the second exit.
- At the second roundabout, take the first exit to remain on the B3150 Middle Farm Way.
- Continue to the next roundabout and take the first exit to rejoin Bridport Road.
- At the final roundabout, take the third exit to rejoin the A35 westbound. (Traffic for the A354 at Weymouth should take the first exit onto the A35 eastbound towards Stadium Roundabout).
Eastbound/Northbound (no symbol)
- Follow local routes via the A352 to Max Gate Roundabout.
- Take the B3143 to the roundabout with the B3144.
- Continue on the B3144 north to the junction with the B3150.
- Turn right onto the B3150 and proceed to the Stinsford Roundabout to rejoin the A35.
Travel Advice
Drivers are urged to follow the signed diversion routes and allow extra time for their journeys. Dorset Police are advising motorists to avoid the area if possible and use alternative routes to bypass the affected stretch.
