Two women have been hospitalized with serious injuries after a car crashed into a verge on the A2 last night.
The incident occurred at Boughton, between Canterbury and Faversham, at approximately 9:40 p.m. Emergency services, including police and ambulance crews, rushed to the scene after an officer driving along the road noticed the lights of the car off the side of the road.
Upon arrival, it was determined that the two women, whose identities have not been disclosed, needed immediate medical attention. An air ambulance was summoned and landed nearby to transport one of the women to a hospital in London, while the other was taken by road.
The severity of their injuries has been described as serious, although not life-threatening, according to police reports.
As a result of the incident, the A2 was temporarily shut off to traffic to facilitate the emergency response. The exact circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by authorities.
