The A14 in Northamptonshire has been closed in both directions between Junction 2 (Kelmarsh) and Junction 3 (Rothwell) following a serious collision.
Northamptonshire Police and emergency services are at the scene, and delays are expected on approaches to the closure.
Diversion Routes
To minimize disruption, diversion routes have been established for both eastbound and westbound traffic.
Westbound Traffic: Follow Hollow Circle Diversion Symbol
- Exit the A14 westbound at Junction 3 and take the third exit onto the A6.
- Continue northbound on the A6, passing through Braybrooke and Harborough Road roundabouts to the Catalyst Roundabout in Market Harborough.
- At the Catalyst Roundabout, take the first exit onto A4304 Rockingham Road and continue to the A4304/A508 St Mary’s Road junction.
- Turn left onto A508 Kettering Road, passing through Welland Park Road and the Leisure Centre roundabout, then continue south on the A508 through Great Oxendon and Kelmarsh.
- Rejoin the A14 at Junction 2.
Eastbound Traffic: Follow Solid Diamond Diversion Symbol
- Exit the A14 at Junction 2 and turn left onto the A508 Harborough Road.
- Continue northbound through Kelmarsh and Great Oxendon to Market Harborough.
- At the A508/A4304 junction, turn right onto Springfield Street and continue to Kettering Road.
- At the Catalyst Roundabout, take the fourth exit onto the A6 southbound, passing through Braybrooke and Harborough Road roundabouts.
- Rejoin the A14 at Junction 3.
HGV Diversion Routes
Separate routes for HGVs are provided, passing through Market Harborough Town Centre and the Airfield Business Park Roundabouts. Full details can be found on the National Highways website.
