The three-year-old female Boxer, described as ginger with white paws, a distinct white patch on the tip of her tail, and a small pimple on her left ear, was taken from outside her owner’s front door at around 12:30pm earlier this week.
Weighing approximately 44 to 45 kilograms, the dog was not only a cherished companion, but also played a vital role in her owner’s day-to-day life. The owner, who lives with epilepsy, relied heavily on the dog for support, making the theft even more distressing.
Local residents quickly rallied behind the family, sharing appeals on social media and searching the area. Their efforts paid off when news came that the dog had been safely located and returned home.
“She’s been found — thank you so much to everyone who shared, supported and kept an eye out. It means the world to my neighbour and her family,” said one local neighbour who helped raise the alarm.
While the dog’s safe return is a huge relief, community members have called for increased awareness around pet thefts, urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
