Have you had a busy or stressful week? Then you may be craving rest to recharge your battery.

If you’re wondering what to do when you’re feeling tired, you’ll be glad to hear that many activities can help fill up your cup on low-energy days.

To give you some inspiration, we’ve put together a list of six things that are perfect when you need to slow down.

  1. Go for a walk in nature

One of the best ways to relax and recharge is to take a gentle stroll in nature. Try to go somewhere you’ll hear birds singing – as this is said to positively impact your mental wellbeing, according to The Guardian. Visit your local woods, walk around a reservoir or wander around a picturesque park with a loved one.

Catch up on TV programmes

If you have little energy, why not curl up on the sofa with a cuppa and a blanket to catch up on some great TV? Choose your favourite sitcom for easy viewing or get stuck into a well-rated drama series – it’s up to you!

    Do some gardening

Get in the garden to enjoy some fresh air and time in nature, without having to venture too far. You could cut the grass, strim, de-weed or do some planting. The RHS says there’s a “significant association between gardening more frequently and improvements in wellbeing”, making this the perfect activity after a busy or stressful period.

      Play games at home

If the weather’s not enticing you outside, get cosy indoors and enjoy playing games like roulette online. There are many fun casino games you can take part in from the comfort of your own home, as well as action, sports and racing competitions. Battle it out on Call of Duty or see how fast you can race around the track on Mario Kart.

        Indulge in some self-care

Feeling burnt out? Now’s the perfect time to prioritise self-care. This could be anything from a relaxing bubble bath to catching up on sleep. Choose something that resonates with you and will help you feel refreshed and revitalised, whether it’s journaling alone or reconnecting with your family

          Get zen

Revitalise your mind and body by practising meditation or breathwork. There are many great apps you can download on your phone that will guide you through meditations if you’re a beginner, such as Headspace and Calm. If you’ve been on the go and feeling exhausted, meditation is great as it can help to reduce stress and anxiety, lower blood pressure, regulate your mood and improve your sleep, says Forbes.

Which of these activities will you choose when you’re lacking energy?
