23-Year-Old Man Charged with Murder in Co Kildare Stabbing Incident

A 23-year-old man has been charged with murder following a stabbing that occurred in Co Kildare on Sunday morning.

The victim, a 39-year-old man, lost his life in the incident. The accused, identified as Valeriu Melnic, resides at an address in Calliaghstown Lower, Rathcoole, Co Dublin. The fatal stabbing took place at an address in Sallins Park, Co Kildare.

Detective Garda Enda Coleman confirmed that Mr. Melnic was formally charged with murder on Monday evening. The case was brought before a special sitting of Naas District Court.

Judge Desmond Zaidan has scheduled Mr. Melnic’s next appearance at Naas District Court for Thursday, 16 May 2024.
